In this learning sequence we will look at democratic institutions, the way a democratic state is organised and the involvement of different groups and bodies and the public in the development of democracy using the example of the history of democracy in Spain, in some cases.
General Objectives: To investigate democratic values Creation of an audio-visual project (documentary, short, short animation) about democratic values. To research and prepare creative content. Specific: To prepare an on-line audio-visual project. To introduce digital literacy. To find out about democratic values through audio-visual images. To be a protagonist in their own story. To research historic characters, models of democratic values. Contents - Knowledge Conceptual (declarative): History of democracy: the birth of democracy in Athens. The maturity of democracy. Democratic values Tolerance versus totalitarianism. Procedural: To research the history of democracy. To create an on-line audio-visual project on the topic. To have available support documents. Attitude: To raise awareness of democratic values. To introduce civic and democratic values. The development of democracy, analysing electronic democracy. Prior knowledge: Democracy: public mechanisms, civil rights and democratic values. Access the learning guide for the sequence.
