Specific: To understand the link between this form of slavery and exploitation of children by adults for economic gain. To identify the main parts of the world where this occurs. To understand the causes of the issue: extreme poverty, low wages, family debts. To understand some of the consequences of this issue: lack of control over own lives, unsanitary living conditions, vulnerability to abuse by owners and lenders, lack of formal education, child abuse and trafficking (transfer to other owner).
