Description:

The difficulty of enjoying the right to cultural and sports events.

Teaching orientation:

General Objectives: To raise awareness of the difficulties for people with disabilities of exercising the right to enjoy cultural, sport and leisure activities and facilities. Specific: To analyse situations which reveal the difficulty or impossibility of accessing and using cultural, leisure and sports activities and facilities. To recognise different systems and aids which promote access and involvement in these activities and facilities. To observe the noticeable absence of people with disabilities from cultural, sports and leisure facilities, connecting this to the difficulties of enjoying these. Contents - Knowledge Conceptual (declarative): Access to recreational, cultural and sports facilities: physical access to the facilities (open and closed) and technical resources. Procedural: Observation of situations in cultural, recreational and sports facilities which reveal this. Identification of sports which have been adapted for people with disabilities (athletics, football, basketball). Recognition of the adaptations made to facilities to promote participation: museums, cinemas and theatres, beaches, swimming pools, natural parks, restaurants, sports facilities, ?Connection of the difficulties in accessing cultural, recreational and sports facilities with the absence of disabled people from such spaces. Attitude: To raise awareness of aspects which make access and use of cultural, sports and recreational facilities, and participation in such activities, difficult for people with disabilities. Prior knowledge: Not necessary. Access the learning guide for the object.
