The intent is to reinforce the use of units of mass in the DMS, their equivalents and forms of expression. It practises simple calculations with measurements of mass and stresses the importance of accuracy in measurements of mass.
prerequisite knowledge: Concept of measurement as the result of a comparison between objects. Decimal Numbering System: order and positional value of the digits. Basic operations with natural numbers and decimals. Reading data tables. Fractions: one-half, one-fourth, one-half of one-fourth, three-fourths
Knowledge type: declarative, procedural
Learning outcomes: To use the DMS and basic operations with measurements of mass in order to solve problems in the world around us.
