About this resource...

Pollution and depletion of resources in the soil

Worksheet overview

Description:

Study and awareness of the processes related to pollution and depletion of resources in the soil.

Teaching orientation:

Knowledge type: declarative, procedural

Learning outcomes: To know what elements produce soil pollution and how this pollution comes from us and returns to us, with it potentially affecting our health and harming the environment, as well as understanding what soil resources are not inexhaustable (petroleum depletion), and to see the need to turn to renewable energies (solar, hydraulic and wind energy) that are not depleted and that provide practically no pollution.

prerequisite knowledge: Before working with this teaching sequence, the students must understand the concepts of: pollution, resource depletion, renewable or inexhaustable energy. It would be interesting to create a graph on the increase in the price of oil over the last few years, in order to explain the need to find other inexhaustable energy sources. It would be interesting to ask the students to comment on whether they have been to or seen a rubbish dump, or another place that is overridden by pollution and to try to analyse its consequences.
