This Learning Object concerns P2P programs and the protocols they use, making the students aware of the importance of using these programs responsibly.

Specific outcomes: To understand the protocols that are behind peer-to-peer communications. To identify the characteristics of the different peer-to-peer applications. To appreciate the importance of being able to access and share files globally. To recognise the legal problems implied by sharing copyright-protected files. To appreciate the importance of respect for intellectual property and the appropriateness of turning to sources that expressly authorise its use.
