Knowledge type: declarative, procedural
prerequisite knowledge: The knowledge acquired during Primary year 3 is sufficient. In any case, it is recommended to cover some of the initial sections of the topic in class with the teacher.
Learning outcomes: General: To recognise birth as the final phase of pregnancy and the end of foetal development inside the mother. To differentiate single births from multiple births. To differentiate normal births from Caesarean births. Methods of preparation for birth. To show interest in knowing about methods for preparing for birth. Specific: To use multimedia animation to show how birth occurs in a simple manner. Another animation shows how multiple births occur, while Caesarean births are covered in yet another. Explanation of methods for preparing for birth. To answer a questionnaire on the contents of this unit.
