Conversion of a measurement expressed in complex form into simple form, with the help of the memory on a calculator.
Knowledge type: declarative, procedural
Learning outcomes: To use and associate numbers, their basic operations, symbols and forms of mathematical expression and reasoning. To apply calculation algorithms and elements of logic in order to identify the validity of reasoning. To solve problems related to everyday life and the working world. To select appropriate techniques in order to perform a calculation, representing and interpreting reality based on available information. To use a calculator as an instrument to facilitate performing repetitive or complex calculations and as an instrument to validate the accuracy of a calculation.
Prerequisite knowledge: Decimal metric system, basic units of measurement, multiples and submultiples of a metre, litre and kilogram. To differentiate between whole and decimal numbers. Multiplication of decimals by a unit followed by zeroes. Division of decimals by a unit followed by zeroes.
