Wilmslow is a town in Cheshire, England that is 11 mi (18 km) south of Manchester. The area, which lies between affluent Alderley Edge and Handforth, is known for its upmarket lifestyle and its famous and rich residents. It is one of the most sought-after places to live in the UK after central London. The town has boutique shops, cafes and restaurants, and high-marque car showrooms which cater for those associated with the "Cheshire Set" lifestyle.The population of Wilmslow is 30,326 as of the 2001 Census. The town is within the Parliament constituency of Tatton. The traditionally Conservative seat is represented by George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
