Descripción:

The educational resource shows an interactive animation about the thermometer: the fact that mercury and alcohol expand when the temperature increases is used to construct thermometers. If we fix the temperature of a substance with a device known as a thermostat, we will be able to see the height reached by the column of liquid in the thermometer and the relation between temperature and height.

Orientación didáctica:

TEACHING OBJECTIVES : To understand how the thermometer works when the mercury (or the alcohol) expands when the temperature increases.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Concepts of temperature and thermal expansion.

METHODOLOGY : Conceptual and procedural in a virtual environment.
