Howard William Atherton, BSC (born 12 August 1947, Ilford, London Borough of Redbridge) is an English cinematographer.He studied the London International Film School, and worked as commercial film staff.From 1970's, He worked as the camera assistant at Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and the second unit cinematographer at Alien and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.He is well-known cinematographer of Adrian Lyne films such as Fatal Attraction, Indecent Proposal, and Lolita, and Charles Sturridge films such as Runners, Gulliver's Travels, and Lassie.He taught at the London Film School.He is the member of British Society of Cinematographers.
