Le très honorable Edward Michael Balls, dit Ed Balls, né le 25 février 1967 à Norwich, est un homme politique britannique membre du Parti travailliste (Labour). Il est nommé secrétaire d'État à l'Enfance, à l'Éducation et à la Famille en 2007, après avoir été de 1994 à 1999 conseiller économique de Gordon Brown. Il renonce à son poste en 2010, après la défaite du Labour aux élections législatives. Membre de la Chambre des communes depuis 2005, il appartient à la jeune génération travailliste avec David et Ed Miliband ou encore Andy Burnham, qu'il affronte lors de l'élection de la direction du Labour.
