About this resource...
The educational resource shows an interactive animation about the mechanical equivalent of heat: if energy is measured in Joules and heat is a form of energy, what is the relation between Joules and calories? This ratio is known as the mechanical equivalent of heat.
METHODOLOGY : Conceptual and procedural in a virtual environment.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Concepts of temperature, specific heat and mechanical power.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES : To describe the heat like an energy in movement when the sistems are at different temperatures and to relate it to the work. To apply the exchanges of thermal energy for calculating equilibrium temperatures
