Körös (Romanian: Criș, German: Kreisch) is the name of a 195 km long river in eastern Hungary. It is formed at the confluence of the rivers Fehér-Körös (Romanian: Crișul Alb) and Fekete-Körös (Romanian: Crișul Negru) near Gyula. This reach is also called the Kettős-Körös River All three rivers, Crișul Alb (Fehér-Körös), Crișul Negru (Fekete-Körös) and Crișul Repede (Sebes-Körös), have their source in the Apuseni Mountains in Transylvania, Romania. Kettős-Körös. with a length of 37,3 km is formed at the confluence of Crișul Alb and Crișul Repede, near the Hungarian town GyulaThe Crișul Repede (Hungarian: Sebes-Körös) flows into the Hármas-Körös near Gyomaendrőd. The lower reach, after the confluence of the three rivers is known as Criș or Hármas-Körös flows into the Tisza River near Csongrád.It was known in antiquity as the Crisus, Crisia, Grisia, or Gerasus, while an archaic German name is Kreisch.
