In this section, the differences between the types of networks will be explained according to the geographical area they cover and the peculiarities of each. The topologies used in the design of local networks will be discussed.
Knowledge type: declarative, procedural
prerequisite knowledge: Basic circuit diagram layouts. Basic knowledge related to connecting electrical components. Use of Web interfaces to select options and enter data on forms. Basic PC hardware structure. Use of device configuration interfaces in the operating system.
Learning outcomes: General outcomes: To know the general, basic concepts for designing network infrastructures. Specific outcomes: To know the types of networks, according to their geographical environments. To differentiate between the local network topologies. To design a project for a local network installation.
