Historic and historical sound a little alike. Both are adjectives, but their meanings are different. Historic is an adjective meaning important in history.Example 1: The battlefield was an historic site. Historical is an adjective meaning based on the past or about past events. The difference is that historic means something of that is important, as opposed to historical, which means anything relating to the past.
