About this resource...
The educational resource shows a visual about the angular momentum L of a particle with respect to a point O: it is the vectorial product of the positional vector r times the linear momentum m·v. The variation of L depends on the momentum of the force applied on the particle. If it is a central force its momentum with respect to the origin of the force is 0 and the angular momentum is conserved.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES : To understand the concept of angular momentum of a particle with respect to a point. To quantify the value of L in simple exercices.
METHODOLOGY : Conceptual and procedural in a virtual environment.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:Concepts of vector of position and vector of velocity. Concept of central force.
