A short story which focuses on two girls who are on a trip to be companions to a Professor's wife abroad on a trip. Jane Bassett is a dutiful girl who has been governessing since she was sixteen while Ethel Amory is more flighty and in much more comfortable circumstances. This trip shows them their strengths and weaknesses and Jane, called Jenny, truly enjoys herself in London and both Jenny and Ethel learn to appreciate each other as well.
It is an ebook from The International Children's Digital Library, a project of the ICDL Foundation in collaboration with the University of Maryland's Human-Computer Interaction Lab.
