Ghislaine Maxwell (born 25 December 1961) is a British businesswoman. Maxwell is the ninth and youngest child of Elisabeth (née Meynard), a French Protestant and Robert Maxwell, the late Czechoslovakian-born British Jew media proprietor and former Member of Parliament (MP) whose body was found floating in the sea after he fell from the luxury yacht named after his daughter, the Lady Ghislaine, in 1991. She is the sister of Kevin Maxwell and Ian Maxwell.She was educated at Marlborough College and Balliol College, Oxford. She founded a successful women's club named after the original Kit-Cat Club and was a director of Oxford United FC, once owned by her father. She is also founder of The TerraMar Project. Maxwell strongly denies allegations of an unsavoury nature, which have appeared in the British press and elsewhere, regarding her association with Jeffrey Epstein, and announced her intention to sue for libel.
