This Learning Object shows how to use a Web browser for FTP downloads.

Learning outcomes: General outcomes: To give students the skills they need to transfer files using a Web browser. Specific outcomes: To know the download functions of a web browser. To describe the interaction with a browser that allows the FTP protocol to be used with an FTP server. Access to an FTP server through a web browser. To describe the advantages and disadvantages of navigation in a browser as compared to the FTP protocol. To use appropriate electronic transfer tools and services in order to meet needs related to file transfer, examining in greater depth the use of a browser as a tool for file transfer. To know the way to access public and private FTP servers, both anonymously and as an authenticated user through a web browser. To download files from an FTP site using a web browser.
