Descripción:

Through a virtual scenario, the aim is to make the students familiarise themselves with one tumour treatment: Teletherapy by electron accelerator. To make them able to know and apply the protocols established to perform this treatment.

Orientación didáctica:

TEACHING GOALS: GENERAL: 1. To identify the purpose and the characteristics of the different components of the CT equipment. 2. To determine the study plan and to know the values of the work parameters of each CT protocol.3. To operate the CT equipment following the protocols established 4. To know, prepare and administer the different types of X-ray contrast agents (oral and intravenous) and the guidelines of how to act in case of possible adverse factors that our body may produce 5. To get different graphic records through the performance of tests with CT equipment for their subsequent clinical study, fulfilling safety and radioprotection standards in force, in relation to people, equipment and facilities 6. To process the image ensuring the quality of the records. SPECIFIC CONCEPTUAL: To know the imaging procedure protocols for CT equipment. preliminary preparation of the patient, administration of the contrast agent (if necessary and with the consent of the radiologist), instruments/exploration accessories, position of the patient, waiting time, imaging procedure, image process, visualisation and presentation of the images and study file. SPECIFIC PROCEDURAL: 1.To prepare the material and the CT equipment 2.To prepare and administer the contrast agent 3.To prepare the patient for the exploration 4.To get the images 5.To assess the study 6.To process the image (if required by the study) 7.To record the exploration SPECIFIC ATTITUDINAL: 1. To take an interest in the instruments 2. To value the importance the equipment has when obtaining an accurate medical image and its significance for the diagnosis 3. To show responsibility when operating the CT equipment 4. To optimise the work, to be efficient in the preparation of the facilities and the equipment, as well as in the performance of the techniques following the procedures established and the radioprotection standards 5. To become aware of the importance of following guidelines which ensure the quality of the procedure 6. To be persevering in quality control 7. To take responsibility for correcting the mistakes 8. To be able to solve problems during the process 9. To show responsibility in the scope of your professional skills 10.To show confidence in the professional practice.
