MAIN TASK: Students will analyse where and what stone has been used for in their municipality: in buildings, in the street, etc. They will identify and classify rocks, and explain what each of them has been used for. To do this, they will organise an outing to a specific area in their municipality. Afterwards, they will locate the places of geological interest on a digital map, and add the information they have gathered. OBJETIVE: The objective set out by this sequence is for students to be made aware of the importante of stone in human activity throughout history. We also want to students to see that Rocks are non-renewable natural resources that the Earth makes available to us, and that it is essential to make responsible use of them.
