The study of the local administration as the guarantor of public services.

Orientación didáctica:

Knowledge type: declarative, procedural

Learning outcomes: General: To identify the main elements belonging to the natural, social and cultural environment, analysing their organisation, their characteristics and interactions and progressing in the command of increasingly complex spatial spheres. To take part in group activities, adopting behaviour that is responsible, constructive and shows solidarity, respecting the basic principles of democracy. Specific: To know the differences between cities and towns. To recognise the elements of a town: homes, factories, schools, hospitals, churches, streets, squares, gardens, town hall, etc. To define what the town council is and its function within a town. To describe how those responsible for the town council are chosen and what their functions are. To identify and appreciate the functions of the municipal services and workers. To describe the commercial activities, their main types and the persons who perform them.

prerequisite knowledge: Medium level of reading comprehension. Interpretation of street maps and other maps.
