Teaching sequence which compares literary genres, verse and prose, and gives the keys to differentiating texts according to their characteristics. The four component units deal with the features belonging to these types of writing.

LEARNING OBJECTIVESTo use reading as a medium for broadening vocabulary and reinforcing correct spelling, to use basic language skills in order to recognise information and draw up concepts in all areas, to use ICTs as instruments for working and learning, to recognise basic structural elements in texts of different kinds
PRIOR KNOWLEDGEknowledge typical for pupils concluding Primary Year 4
