We will examine the concept of citizenship which arose from the French Revolution.
General Objectives: To identify and understand situations in which equality of rights between men and women is affected. Specific: To understand the concept of citizenship which arose from the French Revolution To understand and describe the most significant contributions of the Rights of Women and the Citizeness manifesto? To analyse and describe the discrimination suffered by women during the French revolution as a result of not being considered citizens with full rights. To present and interpret information from different sources in a clear and ordered way. To recognise and value the contribution of Olimpia de Gouges in claiming equality of rights for men and women. Contents Conceptual Knowledge (declarative): The concept of citizenship which arose from the French revolution. The Declaration of the rights of women manifesto written by Olimpia de Gouges. Procedural: Analysis of the factors which resulted in women not being considered full citizens with their own rights during the French revolution. To research and find information about the contribution of Olimpia de Gouges in demanding equal rights for women. Analysis of the manifesto: The declaration of the rights of women and the citizeness. Strategies for understanding oral and written texts and a range of documentation. Attitude: To appreciate and value the thought of Olimpia de Gouges demanding equal rights for men and women. To value the importance of the list of rights demanded for women: votes, holding public office, participation in education, membership of armed forces, etc Prior Knowledge: Analysis of texts, Group work strategies.
