This is the story of Jasper, a white boy who learns through his relationship with Congo, a hardworking but dependent black youth, how to be a benevolent leader. Jasper learns throughout the book that it his his duty to protect the life of his dependent, Congo, and is praised by his grandfather for his actions.
It is an ebook from The International Children's Digital Library, a project of the ICDL Foundation in collaboration with the University of Maryland's Human-Computer Interaction Lab.
